IX Meeting of the WNICBR in Gouritz Cluster (21/08/19)

ImatgeThe Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve is ready to host the IX Meeting of the WNICBR, which will be held in Gourikwa Reserve from 16th to 20th of September.

This event is organised by UNESCO, the Gouritz Cluster BR and the Network's joint secretariats (Jeju and Menorca). Delegates from 20 countries have been invited and the conference provides the opportunity to share experiences, exchange technical knowledge, strengthen co-operation among partners and advance mutual learning and networking in coastal management.

The GCBR is located in the southern part of South Africa, across parts of the Western, Southern and Eastern Cape. It is an incredibly unique place in that it is the only area in the world where three global biodiversity hotspots converge: the Fynbos, Succulent Karoo and Maputoland-Tongoland-Albany hotspots.

This year’s conference theme is Coastlines in Balance.
