Mariñas Coruñesas e Terras do Mandeo

Imatge Located on the Cantabrian-Atlantic coast in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, it is primarily made up of two large drainage basins. Here we can find anything from maritime landscapes on the coastline to notably agricultural landscapes in the valleys or mountainous regions rich in cultural and ethnographic values harmoniously coexisting with the conservation of the natural environment. In the coastal sector, we must highlight the presence of “rias” or coastal inlets, that result from deep land inlets on the coast created by flooding from the sea of flood plains. These areas are home to some of the highest rates of biodiversity on the planet, due in part to their mild temperatures caused by the Gulf Stream.
