Shinan Dadohae Biosphere Reserve is an archipelago with 1,025 islets and the surrounding marine area on the southwest coast of the Korean peninsula. Its geographical location indicates rich biodiversity, with temperate evergreen broadleaf forests, coniferous forests and dune vegetation. With over 1,000 km of coastline, it has great intertidal zones, an important habitat for marine life and rare migratory birds, and has economic importance for the local population, practicing traditional forms of fish and salt production.
