"Ecobarrios" program

The aim of the Ecobarrios Program is to implement the sustainability strategies of the Local Agenda 21 in the neighborhoods of the BR Gran Canaria municipalities, creating models of “Sustainable Neighborhoods” and “Ecobarrios Networks”. The specific governance objectives are: to raise awareness on environmental problems, both local and global; to encourage citizen participation in decision making; and to create a network for exchanging information and experiences between the different Ecobarrios.
